Home and Community-Based Services Medicaid Waiver for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury. Assisting individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury toward successful inclusion in the community.

Home and Community-Based Services Medicaid Waiver for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (HCBS/TBI), is administered by the New York State Department of Health (DOH). The TBI Waiver uses Medicaid funding to provide support and services to assist individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury toward successful inclusion in the community. Waiver participants must be between the ages of 18 and 64 and have a diagnosis of TBI or a related diagnosis similar to TBI. Waiver services may be considered when informal support, local, State and federally funded services and Medicaid State Plan services are not sufficient to assure the health and welfare of the individual in the community, or when Waiver services are a more efficient use of Medicaid funds.
